President-elect Donald Trump claims to have had a “productive” conversation with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo a day after she published a scathing open letter to him about migration, fentanyl trafficking, and tariffs.
Trump said: “We also talked about what can be done to stop the massive drug inflow into the United States, and also, US consumption of these drugs. It was very productive.”
Meanwhile, President Claudia Sheinbaum had an “excellent conversation” with President Donald Trump during which “the Mexican strategy on the migration phenomenon was discussed and I shared that caravans are not arriving at the northern border because they are being attended to in Mexico.”
Sheinbaum explained that the call did not touch upon the issue of tariffs, but rather addressed the “foundations” that the American established to impose them from his first day in office in January 2025.
What she did assure the attendees is that “there will be no potential tariff war between the two countries” and that after the cordial call, Trump even showed interest in Mexican strategies to avoid the fentanyl consumption pandemic in the country.
Both characters are known for lying in the past, so the question is: “Who’s telling the truth about the call”?
