The arrival of a new Cold Front in Yucatan will cause low temperatures to be recorded in Yucatan until Christmas.

The State Coordination of Civil Protection of Yucatan (Procivy) announced that next week, a new Cold Front will travel through the Peninsula, causing a marked drop in temperature in the state for the Christmas holidays.

It indicated that on Thursday, December 19, the arrival of another Cold Front is expected, which will cause a Moderate North event.

There will be an increase in the height of the waves and a subsequent significant drop in temperatures due to the air mass that drives it.

New Cold Front in Yucatan

Due to the Cold Front in Yucatan, light to moderate rains are expected, with a North wind of 40 to 50 km/h on the coast and less in the interior of the State.

Waves of 1.5 to 2 meters in height are also expected on the Yucatan coast during the passage of the new Cold Front.

Freezing temperatures of up to 10 degrees in Yucatan

As part of the drop in temperatures in Yucatan, these are expected to be from Saturday, December 21 to Thursday, December 26.

These will be between 10° to 13° C in the Southern Cone and 14° to 20° C in the rest of the State, maintaining low temperatures during the Christmas holidays.

Given these effects, it is requested to be attentive to the actions that the maritime and port authorities establish.
