After almost a decade of abandonment, the Central de Abasto de Mérida will have another face.
The director of the Central de Abastos, Ricardo Béjar Herrera, revealed that starting next February it will be given general maintenance, in addition to the creation of a gastronomic space and the construction of new sanitary areas.
Starting in February 2025, the Central de Abasto de Mérida will undergo a renovation and restructuring process, to improve its facilities and services.
Ricardo Béjar Herrera announced that the works will include maintenance and painting in various areas of the complex, in order to offer a cleaner and more accessible environment for the thousands of consumers who visit this important supply center.
He also indicated that one of the most outstanding projects is the creation of a gastronomic space, where families and tenants will be able to enjoy traditional Yucatecan cuisine.
This new area within the Central de Abasto aims to offer visitors a complete experience, combining the purchase of fresh products with the possibility of tasting typical regional dishes in a comfortable and modern environment.
