The state of Yucatan is ready for a significant economic spillover during the celebrations of the Day of Kings, estimated at 726 million pesos, said Levy Abraham Macari, president of the National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism (CANACO) of Merida.
This economic flow will be driven mainly by the sale of toys, chocolates, and bakeries, highlighting the traditional Rosca de Reyes, which is an essential part of this festivity in the region.
It is expected that toy stores will experience an increase in their sales, due to the tradition of giving toys to the little ones, evoking the arrival of the Three Wise Men. For their part, bakeries are preparing to satisfy the high demand for Rosca de Reyes while chocolate and candy stores also report an increase in their transactions.
In addition, this day not only benefits established businesses but also entrepreneurs and small local businesses that take advantage of the occasion to offer products and services related to this special date.
CANACO Mérida highlighted that this figure reflects the commercial dynamism that characterizes the season and underlined the importance of continuing to support local producers and merchants.
