Two public transport drivers of a Va y Ven bus and a FUTV Combi engaged in a fight on 60th Street in Mérida.

A fight between a Va y Ven driver and another FUTV driver has gone viral on social media, causing outrage among public transport users, who are asking drivers to be more responsible when driving in Mérida.

The altercation occurred on Calle 60 Norte, on the corner of Calle 21 in the Buenavista neighborhood, where both public transport drivers were involved.

Witnesses indicate that the Frente Único de Trabajadores al Volante driver blocked the Va y Ven driver’s path on several occasions, provoking the driver’s anger.

The driver decided to get out of his unit and confront the combi driver, starting a fight between the two until they fell to the pavement.

Pedestrians intervened to stop the fight between the two drivers, ending the altercation when they both returned to their units.

So far, neither the Yucatan Transportation Agency (ATY) nor the FUTV have taken a position on what happened to their respective drivers.
