The project, which will have a Club House and various amenities, will have an investment of 115 million pesos.

Bacalar will have a new hotel, which will be located near the new archaeological zone of Ichkabal, which was recently opened to the public.

It is Ichkabal Villas, a development that takes its name from the ancient Mayan city that today is one of the tourist attractions of this magical town.

The company Paradise Bacalar Developers registered with the Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat) a project to obtain the Environmental Impact Statement for the construction of a hotel with 32 villas in the municipality of Quintana Roo.

According to the document published in the Environmental Gazette of the agency, the project, which will also have a Club House and various amenities, will have an investment of 115 million pesos.

The project is planned for a useful life of 70 years, although the company indicated in the document that it will receive periodic maintenance to prolong its duration in optimal conditions.

According to the schedule, the preparation of the site and the construction of the hotel will take six years, during which the firm will carry out environmental remediation work.

“The project is conceived as a sustainable hotel complex that seeks to integrate harmoniously with the natural and cultural environment of Bacalar,” says the document registered with Semarnat.

To this end, it adds, it will be a low-density hotel, with a design that privileges integration with the natural landscape of Bacalar and an architecture that respects the regional typology.

The hotel will take advantage of the tourist attraction that the municipality has gained due to its natural attractions, the designation of Magical Town, as well as the location of a station for the Maya Train, and, recently, the opening of the archaeological zone.

“Bacalar has positioned itself as an emerging destination with great tourist potential in the south of Quintana Roo, distinguished by its seven-color lagoon and its historical heritage. The region’s economy is experiencing significant diversification, driven by both sustainable tourism and hotel development, which has generated a significant migratory flow to the municipality,” the project highlights.

In this sense, the developer company stressed that the creation of hotel complexes such as the one registered responds to the demands of a growing tourist population while strengthening the planned urban development of the municipality.
