Federal and state security forces seized more than 100 kilos of natural and synthetic drugs today in Kanasín, Yucatán, according to the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) of Yucatán.

The SSP reported that the seizure included 98 kilos of marijuana, 1.5 kilograms of crystal meth, 1.9 kilograms of cocaine, and 3.2 kilos of ‘rock’ from a private residence in Kanasín, a municipality adjacent to the Yucatecan capital. No arrests were reported.

The operation, conducted on Wednesday morning, involved members of the National Guard, the Army, the State Investigation Police (PEI), the Secretariat of Public Security, and the State Attorney General’s Office.

Kanasín is led by PAN Mayor Edwin Bojorquez, who is serving his second term. Three years ago, officials from his administration were linked to alleged drug dealing activities.
