An attempted femicide occurred on the night of Tuesday, January 28th, at the Caucel police station in Merida: a man cowardly attacked his partner with a machete.
The terrible event occurred last night in a property located on the corner of 26th and 23rd Streets in this community near the state capital.
There, a young woman only 26 years old, identified as Nelly “N”, was brutally attacked by her partner, Darío “N”, after a heated argument.
The man lost control and tried to take the woman’s life with a machete, but she managed to defend herself with her hands to save herself.
She then escaped from the house screaming, and asking for help from the neighbors, who alerted the police by calling the emergency number 911.
It is known that the aggressor was arrested and will be charged with the crime of attempted femicide against his partner.
Meanwhile, the victim was treated by paramedics and transferred to a hospital in Mérida.
