Important agreements have been reached in the salary and contractual review process between the Union of Workers of the Hotel, Gastronomic and Similar Industry of the State of Yucatan and three companies of the sector, specifically the Los Aluxes, Hyatt Regency Merida and Holiday Inn hotels, thanks to the willingness of the parties and the mediation of the Federal and State Governments.

As a result of the sustained dialogue, the Los Aluxes hotel reached a definitive contractual and salary agreement on Saturday, February 8, allowing the resumption of its normal operations as of Sunday.

In the case of the Holiday Inn Hotel, the outbreak of a strike was avoided, guaranteeing its normal operation. The agreements will be formalized before the corresponding Court on Monday, February 10.

Likewise, it is reported that in the case of the Hyatt Regency Merida Hotel, all activities and operations have not been interrupted and will continue without interruption. In this regard, the parties have agreed on a new salary review in the coming days.

The Government of Yucatan appreciates the participation of the Federal Government in the conciliation efforts, as well as the commitment of the productive sectors and workers’ representatives.

The agreements reached will continue to be followed up to maintain Yucatan as a national benchmark in legal certainty, mutual respect, and collaboration between employers and workers.
