Two people die after a crash on the Mérida-Tetiz highway
A fatal accident occurred on the Mérida-Tetiz highway on Monday, February 10, after a compact Nissan Tsuru car invaded the lane in which a personnel transport bus was traveling.
The collision left two people dead and one injured, after the collision between a private vehicle and a personnel transport bus, at kilometer 9.
The events occurred between the night and the early morning of Monday, February 10, when the bus driver was returning to Mérida, after dropping off employees at their workplace.
The vehicle came face to face with a Nissan Tsuru car, which had invaded its lane, so the head-on collision was inevitable as the truck driver could not avoid it.
The Tsuru ended up being destroyed off the asphalt road.
Unfortunately, both the driver and one of his companions lost their lives, while a third passenger was seriously injured and was taken to the nearest hospital.
Municipal and State Police officers arrived at the scene to take note of the events and to clear the road to prevent another traffic accident. Semefo personnel also arrived at the site to remove the bodies.
