Mayor Cecilia Patrón Laviada gave the start of the mega operation to clean streets and police stations in the Nora Quintana subdivision, a campaign that is part of the ¡Es tuyas, cuídala! Program, which aims to keep the city clean with the participation of citizens.

He indicated that this operation began in the aforementioned residential area, where six area brigades will be working, to carry out the clearing of 332 linear meters of ditches, 58 deep wells, and 47 collectors, in addition to the entire neighborhood will be patched and roads will be repaved and grates will be cleaned.

“We will clean public spaces and parks; and change 100 percent of sodium vapor lights to LED to illuminate the streets, an issue that goes hand in hand with the safety of our city. Also in the project: It’s yours, take care of it! There is the project we have for special waste containers,” he said.

He mentioned that these containers are ideal for Merida residents to throw away what is of no use to them, for example, refrigerators, car tires, furniture, or toilets that are usually seen in the medians, and indicated that these containers will not only be in Nora Quintana but also in other neighborhoods.

“We also have the cleaning of vacant lots, we are going to attack all the vacant properties. The first example must be given by the Mérida City Council with its own vacant lands, but also tell the residents of Nora Quintana and the entire city who have vacant lands to take care of it because we are going to be attentive,” he indicated.

He added that in addition to the cleaning work, a tree planting day will begin with the planting of trees in this part of the city, in addition to the Esterimóvil visiting this colony to carry out sterilizations of pets and a Health Fair will be held because it seeks to take care of the health of the people of Merida.

“And we continue because there is very good news for Nora Quintana because four vehicles that were abandoned in the area and that the neighbors had reported to us have already been removed. Thus, in this way, we are working comprehensively at Nora Quintana, but it is an example of what can be achieved as a team,” he added.
