A truck was transporting more than 800 kilograms of cannabis that was stopped on the night of Wednesday, February 12, on the Campeche-Mérida highway by agents of state and federal forces.
In addition to the drugs, contained in more than 100 cardboard boxes, three firearms for the exclusive use of the Army were seized and the driver, José Roberto I. A., 56 years old, originally from the state of Jalisco, was detained to be made available to the competent authorities.
The truck left Jalisco and was destined for the state of Quintana Roo.
This operation is the result of the coordination of authorities of the Federation and the State within the framework of the Security Roundtables in which information is exchanged and analyzed, and agreements are made for the prevention and combating of crime. The Attorney General’s Office (FGR), the Army, Navy, and National Guard, as well as the State Attorney General’s Office and the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) with the State Investigative Police (PEI) and the Canine Unit (K-9) participate.
