The Government of Yucatan and Engie Mexico agreed to work closely together to accelerate and bring to fruition the expansion project of the Cuxtal II gas pipeline in Mayakán, which will allow the arrival of more natural gas to Yucatan, adding competitiveness and development to the state.
Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena received Ana Laura Ludlow, vice president of Government Affairs and director of Sustainability at Engie Mexico, in the portrait room of the Government Palace, to whom he reiterated the willingness to collaborate to make this project a reality since it represents the desire of the Yucatecans to guarantee the supply of electricity.
At the meeting, it was agreed to promote the incorporation of more local suppliers in the value chain of this project, so that the benefits it generates remain in the state. Issues related to the rights of way for the execution and the construction program were also addressed, to verify its progress.
Within the framework of the Mayan Renaissance, with the expansion of the Cuxtal II gas pipeline, the transportation capacity of this resource will be doubled, going from 250 to 567 million cubic feet per day (MMpcd), thereby strengthening and ensuring the supply of natural gas in Yucatan and the southeastern region, providing energy security to thousands of families and promoting investment and industrial growth.
