In an event full of commitment to the community, the program “Let’s Paint San Felipe Together” was officially presented.

This is an initiative promoted by the state government and coordinated by the DIF Yucatán and the Secretariat of Sustainable Fisheries and Aquaculture of Yucatán (SEPASY), whose objective is to transform the appearance of the port of San Felipe so that it once again has the tourist attraction that characterized it, and simultaneously promote the participation of fishermen and their families to improve their environment.

The program contemplates the participation of the San Felipe community by carrying out tasks such as painting facades, fixing roofs, cleaning public spaces, and all those actions that contribute to making the port of San Felipe a more attractive and comfortable place for local families and visitors.

“Let’s Paint San Felipe Together” joins the success of the “Respect the Veda” program, which consists of supporting fishermen during closed seasons, since the program coordinated by the DIF and SEPASY seeks to reinforce the sense of belonging to the community because the beneficiaries of the vouchers delivered to support the economy of their families would dedicate time to doing community work to transform the municipality into a more attractive and welcoming place for locals and visitors.

The state DIF also made a special recognition to the COMEX company, which joined this effort with a valuable contribution that helped make the program a reality.

“Let’s Paint San Felipe Together” not only seeks to beautify the port but also to generate a positive economic impact by strengthening its tourist appeal.
