A group of minors allegedly caused a house fire in the Centro neighborhood of Tizimin while they were playing with matches.
The events occurred on the afternoon of Wednesday, March 5, in the home located on 46-B Street between 61 and 63, where the flames quickly consumed furniture and other belongings.
Neighbors tried to put out the fire before the arrival of the firefighters and the police.
According to preliminary reports, one of the children allegedly threw a lit match near a butane gas tank, which started the fire.
However, thanks to the rapid intervention of the emergency services, a major tragedy was avoided, and no injuries were reported in the incident.
