The Ministry of Education of the Government of the State of Yucatan (Segey) launched the call for the Second State Contest of “Spelling Bee” 2024-2025, aimed at sixth-grade students of public schools who study English.
The event, organized through the State Coordination of English and the National English Program (Proni), seeks to strengthen language learning, encourage correct pronunciation, and improve students’ vocabulary. In addition, self-esteem and healthy competition are promoted in an atmosphere of friendship.
The school phase will be from March 24 to 28, the zone phase from April 7 to 11, the sector phase from May 19 to 23, and the state phase on June 12.
In the first three stages, the best participants will be selected. In the last stage, the 20 best students from all over the State will compete. All state phase finalists will receive participation recognition. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place in each category (girls and boys), and the results will be announced on the day of the final.
