Chabihau is a fishing port located in the municipality of Yobaín, on the northern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, 85 km (52.5 miles) northeast from Merida; and 58 km (36 miles) east of the port of Progreso, between the town of San Crisanto (municipality of Sinanché), and Santa Clara (municipality of Dzidzantún), and directly connected through a paved road with the town of Yobaín, head of the municipality.
Chabihau in Mayan language means where the anteater (Chab) paves the way (haw).
