Six months after the unprecedented student exchange between high schools and public universities in the country, the executives, teachers and students involved made an evaluation of the program, which places the Autonomous University of Yucatan (UADY), among the five best higher education institutions in the country due to its high quality academic standards and the great performance of its graduates in professional fields.
In a meeting of the opinion committee, authorities of UADY and the General Directorate of Higher Education for Education Professionals (Dirección General de Educación Superior para Profesionales de la Educación: Dgespe), agreed to describe the project as a very enriching experience for the training of Teacher’s College students. The project is to consolidate the actions and expand the coverage to reach a larger number of young people throughout the country.
Last May, the Dgespe decided to promote a mobility program that had never been carried out in the history of our country’s educational system.
Five public universities were selected for their high quality standards: the Autonomous University of Baja California, (UABC); the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UDAEM); the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL), as well as the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) and the Autonomous University of Yucatan (UADY).
The coordinator of the Dgespe’s educational cooperation program, José Montes Ortega, reported that during this process, UADY’s values, academic excellence, quality standards, comprehensive student care, and other variables were strengthened to ensure success of these actions.
