Governor Rolando Zapata visits Santa Claus at “Viva la Navidad” in Mérida

All kinds of rides, the “Circus Christmas Show”, Santa Claus himself and several shows are the main attractions offered by the “Viva la Navidad” fair  in Mérida Yucatan, which aims to delight Yucatecan families during this holiday season.

Accompanied by the president of the System for the Integral Development of the Family (DIF), Sara Blancarte de Zapata, Governor Rolando Zapata Bello visited this fair located in the parking lot of the Plaza El Patio shopping center, in the east of the city.

Along with the president of the Board of the Yucatan Trade Fair Promotion Institute (Junta de Gobierno del Instituto Promotor de Ferias de Yucatán), Juan José Abraham Achach, Zapata Bello toured the fair, where he noticed the wide range of activities that take place during this fourth edition of the Christmas Fair.

“The number of visitors is expected to increase to 400,000, compared to 300,000 last year”, said Humberto Rodríguez Cural, director general of the Yucatan Trade Fair Promotion Institute.

The head of the Executive Power greeted the families in attendance and personally visited the Santa Claus Workshop.

Among the daily activities scheduled to take place on stage, are the traditional Christmas show, as well as musicals, magic show and clowns presentations, as well as feature presentations of several state dance academies.

The fair is open from today December 17, 2016; to Sunday 8, January 2017, from 17:00 to 23:00 hours; and admission is free.
