MERIDA — Milenio Novedades reported that on Wednesday September 20 there was a coordinated operation between the State and the Municipal Governments, as well as the Federal Police (PF), to transfer the first six of 28 giant wind turbines to be installed in the Dzilam de Bravo Wind Farm.

With this, Yucatan is moving towards being one of the territories with the highest production of renewable energy.

The destination is ideal for the completion of the wind farm, due to the state’s energy demand, coupled with its important road, port and airport infrastructure, and its business environment, said the general manager of Viva Energía, Benigno Villareal del Río.

He added that the site is designed to withstand wind gusts caused by hurricanes up to category five.
