“With the opening of the new air route between Mérida and the city of Silao, Guanajuato, operated by the airline Volaris, a new and important door is opened that will allow the arrival of more visitors to the state that will stimulate the local tourist activity, which will have a positive impact on the business sector and will benefit the Yucatecan society in general”, declared Michell Fridman, Yucatán Tourism State Secretary.
At the Manuel Crescencio Rejón International Airport in Mérida, Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal confirmed the arrival of the new flight, which arrived at 10:55 this Friday November 16, with 148 passengers, of which the citizen, Julio Roberto Muñoz, became the first to descend from the plane.
“In this Mérida International Airport, we not only opened a route that connects us with the Bajío, but we also talked about a growth of 14.6 percent, above the global average seen in other airport terminals. Next year we will have two more nes flihts to Villahermosa, Tabasco Mexico, and Toronto,Canada; a symptom of the growth potential that Yucatán has. ” said the director of Aeropuertos Regionales del Sur (ASUR), Héctor Navarrete Muñoz
He added that this flight not only connects Yucatan with Guanajuato through the city of León (Silao), but also with Querétaro, Aguascalientes, San Luis Potosí, states part of the Bajío region that has developed the largest industrial corridor in Latin America, as well as linking the state with important markets like the Asian.
