MÉRIDA, Yucatán.- The Attorney General’s Office (FGE) opened an investigation file in the case of Naomi C.A, who was attacked in the early hours of Sunday November 25 near the City Center shopping center by her ex-boyfriend Ricardo C.C, who is currently at large.

In an interview, the victim insisted that the suspect tried to kill her, as he left her unconscious on two occasions by way of strangulation. The Justice Center for Women opened the investigation file 1906/2018, for the aggression.

The young victim said that the incident happened at dawn last Sunday when she encountered her ex-boyfriend Ricardo C.C, in the bathrooms of the Magnus Plaza. Their relationship ended almost two years ago, and the subject cornered her against the wall and started to yell at her.

A witness intervened in defense of the girl and the ex-boyfriend beat him up, then a security agent came up to help, and the victim took the opportunity to flee and she went across the street to the City Center shopping center. However, her attacker came after her and began to strangle her with both hands.

“He looked as if he was drunk or on drugs, he was saying something about not wanting to be a homosexual, I did not understand what he meant, he choked me until I lost consciousness, he told me that his life did not make sense and that I did not deserve to live, he said he was going to kill me and then he was going to kill himself, until I fell unconscious for the second time, ” the victim declared.

She added that when she woke up, Ricardo was talking to himself, so she took the chance to run away from him towards Avenida Andrés García Lavín, where she was once again caught up by the suspect, who started choking her one more time, until she fell unconscious again.

When she regained consciousness, she was surrounded by several people, who called the police and her mother. An ambulance arrived on site, and took her to a private hospital, where she was diagnosed with cervical sprain.
