Tulum was ranked among the five best beaches in the world, according to the annual classification of the FlightNetwork online travel platform.

The annual list of the 50 main destinations for 2018 was integrated by a survey of 1,200 professionals from the travel industry.

According to FlightNetwork , the best destinations correspond to the Shipwreck beaches in Zakynthos, Greece; Whitehaven in Queensland, Australia; Hidden in El Nido, Philippines; Do Sancho Bay in Pernambuco, Brazil, and Tulum in Quintana Roo, Mexico.

The white sands and natural beauty of Tulum in the Riviera Maya exceeded destinations such as Grace Bay in the Turks & Caicos island; Seven Miles in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands; Anse Source D’Argent on the Island of Digue, Archipelago of Seychelles; Maya Bay in Phi Phi, Thailand and Varadero in Cuba, among others.

Tulum has already been considered as one of the best beach destinations in the world by National Geographic in 2017 (24 out of 31 beaches) for its sand, proximity to the Maya Prehispanic City of the same name and its coral reef.

Mexico has stood out in the ranking of beach destinations. Playa Norte on Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo, was also listed as one of the 10 best.

The Travelers Choice Playa awards reiterated Playa Norte as a world-class destination in 2018, based on traveler reviews and reviews from TripAdvisor. It was recognized as “a paradise” for its white sands and shallow waters.
