MERIDA YUCATAN, January 1 (TYT) .- During the End of the Year festivities, between 6:00 p.m. on Monday 31st and 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 1st, only 3 traffic events were recorded, with a balance of 2 people injured and none deceased, as well as 7 arrests for disturbance on public roads.
According to information provided by the Department of Road Traffic Experts of the Ministry of Public Safety, drivers were in normal condition, were not drunk and only two mishaps occurred in the streets of the city and one in the Peripheral Ring (Periférico).
As part of the Roads Operative, 27 alcoholometry stations were installed and in no case drunk drivers were detected nor detained.
In the periférico, speed reducing stations were also placed with the same purpose of preventing accidents.
The elements of Road Assistance provided in that period, 66 services for mechanical, electrical damage, lack of fuel or tire changes.
On the other hand, the Safety and Roads Operation implemented by the Municipal Police of Mérida, from December 31 until dawn on Tuesday, in the first and main square of the city, gave good results, reporting a “white balance” or zero casualties.
Only 7 arrests were made for disturbances on public roads, detainees were made available to qualifying judges. The technicians in medical emergencies attended 14 people, all of these cases for minor causes.
There were 3 traffic events, in which the parties involved reached an agreement at the place of the incident.
In the operation implemented jointly by the Army, the Municipal Police of Mérida, the Ministry of Public Security, the Federal Police, State and Municipal Civil Protection, on December 22, 23, 24, 29, 30 and 31, a total of 675 kilos of illegal pyrotechnic devices were confiscated in different parts of the city.
