Two of the seven victims of a shooting in a bar in Playa del Carmen were Yucatecan, residents of municipalities in the east of the state.
The deceased were identified as José Luis Poot Uc, a native of the municipality of Chichimilá and who died when he was taken to a hospital in Playa del Carmen, and Rafael Nájera Dzib, originally from the Checmil community, municipality of Chemax.
The shootout, which caused a commotion due to the degree of violence in Quintana Roo, took place in “Las Virginias” Bar, where armed men enter the premises and shot seven men at point-blank range.
Poot Uc, who received two bullet wounds, was reportedly transferred alive in an ambulance but died on the way t the hospital.
The families of both victims are still waiting for the bodies to be delivered.
