Cancun’s Penitentiary is controlled by the inmates

According to POR ESTO, beer, alcoholic beverages and other illegal substances can be seen passing hand to hand inside the Cancun penintentiary. On Dec. 31st, 2018 the inmates carried out their celebration without absolutely any intervention from the prison authorities.

The State Preventive Police PEP keeps reinforced security outside the prison, after the failed execution attempt of the deputy director, Ricardo Igor Bravo Herrera and one of the prison guards. They were ambushed outside the prison facility by heavily armed hired assassins, who fired at them and then fled.

With total freedom and without any restriction, the inmates of the Center for Social Reintegration of Cancun obtain and possess drugs, alcohol and other prohibited objects and substances inside the prison facility, as there is absolutely no control of the prisoners from the authorities.

Proof of this was the celebration that the inmates had at the end of the year, in which the cans of beer and alcohol bottles could be seen at broad daylight, without any concern from the convicts.

However, it’s business as usual inside the CERESO, the inmates live in relative “calm”, and they receive the visit of family members normally.

Fact is that, the prisoners of the Cereso de Cancún do not have any restrictions on the part of the prison authorities. For this reason, drugs, alcohol, cell phones and other prohibited objects circulate inside the premises, with absolute impunity. It is evident that the inmates “run the show” at this prison facility.
