Man who killed a woman with a stone in Mérida found guilty of homicide in the first degree

A subject was found guilty of homicide in the first degree, after the events that took place in June 2018 in Mérida, according to the investigation file, the man and his “friends” began to throw stones at a group of people who were standing in front of a house located in Colonia San Pedro Uxmal.

During this terrible act of vandalism, one of the stones thrown by suspect hit the now deceased in the head, so she was taken to a hospital in Mérida where she died days later, due to a traumatic brain injury.

The aggressor was sentenced to three years in prison and to the payment of more than one and a half million pesos as compensation for the damage.

This man had been previously charged for his alleged responsibility in the death of J.C.M., who was wounded in the head with a stone, on June 3, 2018 also in Mérida’s Colonia San Pedro Uxmal.

On that ocassion, the suspect received a public warning, suspension of his political rights and the prohibition of approaching the victims and the adress of the deceased.

The accused was subjected to precautionary measures back in June 2018, so he had to wear an electronic locator. But now, after the sentence against it, he must present himself before the judge to initiate the corresponding legal process and it is still to be determined how many year he will have to spend in prison.
