Young and adult women who use public transport vehicles to move around the city of Mérida, complain constantly in social networks to be victims of sexual harassment by men who are allowed on board the buses highly intoxicated with alcohol.

The women say that on several occasions they have reported this type of incidents to the bus drivers, but they ignore them and do nothing to stop the harassment.

A woman released a video where a man presumably under the influence of alcohol was improperly ‘touching’ her.

As this young lady posted this video on  social networks, dozens of comments of other women starting popping up,  mentioning similar stories that other female victims have lived through while riding the bus.

Another video that catches a lot of attention is one where they record a group of people standing in the inside a public transportation bus, gathered in a small group drinking alcoholic beverages, without anyone telling them anything.

This type of situation is experienced daily by women of all ages, not only in Mérida, but in different municipalities of the state of Yucatan.

The allegations of street sexual harassment against women have been multiplying alarmingly in recent months, making it one of the main concerns of citizens in our state.
