Willing to collaborate
During the meeting, Vila Dosal said that his administration is willing to collaborate with the University of Miami in actions and projects that represent opportunities to improve the quality of life of the people of Yucatan and contribute to strengthening the system of scientific research and innovation that already exists.

In the presence of the state secretary of Health, Mauricio Sauri Vivas, and the general coordinator of Advisors, Álvaro Juanes Laviada, the Governor pointed out that this first contact could signify the beginning of a strong relationship between Yucatan and this important Higher Education Institution for the development of joint plans in the medium and long term, as already developed with the Michigan State University.

During the meeting, Governor Vila Dosal and university executives spoke about cooperation in medicine, mathematics and marine sciences, as well as social problems such as gender violence and teenage pregnancy.

As part of his visit to Yucatan, the representative for Mexico and Central America of the University of Miami and his delegation held meetings with the head of the Secretariat of Research, Innovation and Higher Education (Siies), Bernardo Cisneros Buenfil, and with executives of the Autonomous University of Yucatan (UADY).
