MÉRIDA.- 28 year-old James Adrián Johnston Pérez, was found dead on Tueday May 7th, inside his apartment in Fraccionamiento Montebello, in northern Mérida.
The body was found by his roommate Christian Robleda Giffenig. At the scene the police found residues of barbiturates, specifically the drug known as Diazepam.
Johnston Perez, a public accountant who graduated from a private university, had a relation with a single mother, and when separated, the father of the woman, according to reports collected by the Investigative Police, threatened the now deceased with killing him if he did not return with his daughter and take care of her. Apparently, this person has a criminal record.
Two versions
The first version said that the young accountant, would have died from bronchoaspiration. The event occurred in the property located at Calle 31 # 504 (between 20 and 22) Apt. 3, Montebello, Mérida.
Other version says the body showed traces of violence. However, other reports reveal that before Johnston Perez turned out dead, he was seen at “La Isla” shopping center, where the security camera caught the moment he descends from his Mercedez Benz, and gets into another vehicle apparently with two other men, who identified themselves as Uber drivers.
Initially there was talk of suicide, but later versions appeared to question that hypothesis. Johnston Pérez had dual citizenship, because his mother is Mexican and his father Canadian.
Finally, the fact is that State Attorney General’s office confirmed a death in the Montebello district, late in the evening of Tuesday May 7, but they are still working to determine if it was pathological or not; a suicide or not.
