Dog killed in drive by shooting in Tekax

Just because “they didn’t like him”, subjects shot a Pitbull in the municipality of Tekax, Yucatán.

In a narco style “drive by” shooting, the unidentified suspects opened fire from a moving vehicle, hitting their target, and fleeing the scene in a matter of seconds.

When the dog’s moans were heard, local residents thought that maybe it was fighting with another dog, as he used to do, but later on, eye witnesses revealed what actually really happened.

“Dumbo” was shot from a moving vehicle, but still alive and bleeding, he managed to get to the house of its owners, where he died. The events occurred on Calle 34 between 47 and 49 of Colonia Yocchenkax in Tekax.

According to witnesses, the truck was circulating at low speed through the streets of Colonia Yocchenkax, until they spotted “Dumbo” on Calle 34, and shot him, without caring that a bullet could hit someone or someone’s property.

Municipal police arrived on site, and hours later the Prosecutor’s Office surrounded the area where the dog was attacked.

It is not the first time that cases like this have occurred in Tekax, since last June Braulio Pérez Navarrete, son of the former PRI mayor of Tekax, Carmen Navarrete Navarro, better known as “The Queen of the South”, was accused of shooting a dog dead.

According to residents, on that occasion, Braulio Pérez shot a dog named “Tobi”, just because it was sleeping in front of his property, and without caring that there were people witnessing the event, he activated the gun and shot the animal.
