For the second time in less than a week, the Cancun international airport activated its maximum security protocols due to a bomb threat.
The announcement of the alleged presence of explosives inside an airplane altered the operation in the Cancun air terminal, in the state of Quintana Roo.
The security protocols due to bomb threat were activated on a Wamos Airline flight to Madrid, but in the en, it turned out to be a false alarm.
In any case, the inspection of the aircraft was carried out and all protocols were followed, concluding it was a false alarm, the authorities reported.
According to information issued by Aeropuertos del Sureste (ASUR), the concessionaire of this air terminal, the “bomb threat” took place on Sunday November 10th, a day during which 441 arrivals and departures were scheduled (174 national and 267 international).
Just one week ago (on Sunday November 3rd), another bomb threat was reported on a national flight at the Cancun airport, which also turned out to be a false alarm.
